Sushmita ends friendship with Shahrukh

http://www.firstbollywood.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/sushmita-sen.jpg

Yes, it is true that Sushmita Sen and Shahrukh Khan are no longer friends. The duo broke up after Shahrukh delayed Sushmita Sen starrer Muddasar Aziz directorial debut, Dulha Mil Gaya. That the duo now shares a cold vibes came into notice when Sushmita replied sourly when asked about the hosts at the Filmfare Award night.

“We won’t miss Shahrukh and Saif. We don’t look back, we look forward,” said Sushmita Sen when asked about the hosts at the Filmfare Award night. Shahrukh had a special appearance in Dulha Mil Gaya but in the mid-way, he left the film out of irritation when producer Vivek Vaswani started promoting the film on his name in which SRK featured for only few scenes.

Sushmita who did not have any release last year blames Shahrukh for the loss. This year also starts off badly for Sush as her debut project Jahni Ki Rani got shelved due to some unknown reason.

Sushmita’s ex-beau Randeep calls her ‘unethical’

http://www.bharatwaves.com/portal/uploads/original_Randeep-Hooda_481c0395bda49.jpg

Mumbai, March 02: From being a man who never used to get tired of singing praises of his ladylove- Sushmita Sen, to being a critic of the same woman, Randeep Hooda has come a rather long way.

Hooda, still a struggling actor is clueless on why Sushmita Sen is saying “nasty things” about their forthcoming flick ‘Karma Aur Holi’.

According to reports, Sushmita had previously alleged that the producers of ‘Karma…’ were “promoting the film by sending out sleazy stories” and had demanded that her bedroom scenes with Hooda be deleted. Insiders suggest that Sush does not want Hooda around if she is to promote the film. If this wasn’t all Sush had gone to the extent of calling ‘Karma...’ “not a dignified film” which has obviously not gone down well with any member of the cast. After Suchitra Krishnamurty’s criticism of Sush’s uncalled comments, it is Randeep’s turn to follow the same path.

In an interview given to a news daily the actor exclaimed “If you don’t want to promote it (the film), don’t promote it, but don’t go out of your way to badmouth the film. It’s highly unethical and absolutely unprofessional.”

Reacting to what Sushmita had accused the filmmakers with; Hooda said “I don’t see any sleaze promotion. By not promoting the movie, she is promoting it even more… so that just defeats her purpose.”

Suchitra hits back at Sushmita

In calling Karma aur Holi an undignified film Sushmita is cutting off her nose to spite her face. “I really don’t understand why she could have said what she said. Yes the film has been slightly delayed and all our lives and expectations have changed since we shot the film. But nothing different was shot from what was on paper -the script was followed to a T- if she found the subject undignified why did she become a part of the project? It was an ensemble cast and an unconventional script from day one-why suddenly want to turn it into a heroine centric film? It is a real film about real people and real life situations-and it includes many of us”, said Suchitra Krishnamurty.

She further said, “I object strongly to her statement calling Karma aur Holi undignified and defend my film -it has turned out very well and is a brave and ambitious venture-a genre in itself. Which other film has had a mixed international star cast with the likes of Naomi Campbell, Vincent Curatola Drena Dnero etc...and such fine performances by all its indian cast as well...? Randeep Hooda is outstanding in the film and so are Rati Agnihotri, Suresh Oberoi Deepal Shaw and Naomi. Infact if any body should object to anything it is me. Some of my major scenes from the script were cut off because Sushmita would insist on reshooting her scenes thereby wasting everybody’s time money and good energy. Manish Gupta being a new director was forced to give in argued with him but then let it pass because it was not that important to me. Films are not my mainstay nor do they define my importance to myself or to the outside world”.

“Staying away from the promotion of a film is a personal choice. Everybody is entitled to that. If Sushmita decided that she didn’t want to promote the film it was totally ok. But to belittle a product that so much money and energy is invested is wrong. There are new careers such as director Manish Gupta's etc that hinge on this. I also consider it an insult to be suddenly asked and told by the whole world that I am part of an undignified film because Sush has made this sweeping statement in the media. An insult not only to myself and my team but also to Sa Re Ga Ma the producers who I have been closely associated with through music and art and social interactions for over a decade. If anybody understands and supports creativity it is them”.

“I had to make major readjustments in my time and schedule to make this film happen for myself. Leaving my daughter alone for 6 weeks to go on an outdoor schedule to New York was unimaginable to me and I was about to refuse. But when Shekhar saw my excitement, he told me to just go-putting his own work on hold and moving to Mumbai to look after Kaveri while I was away".

"I have a love making scene in the film and was petrified. Not only while shooting but also about the final outcome. I am happy to say it has turned out very aesthetic and convey what it is meant to convey in the movement of the story. There is nothing undignified in the scene or in the movie. Sushmita has given a fine performance. She has the most to gain from this. She should just relax and not allow her fears to chase good things away’, Suchitra signs off.

Sushmita Sen to play Benazir Bhutto in a biopic?

New Delhi, Former beauty queen and Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen will be enacting the role of Pakistan's former prime minister Benazir Bhutto in a biopic to be made by Pakistani filmmakers.

Bhutto was assassinated Dec 27, 2007, in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

"Yes, I am keen to play the role. The producers are waiting for a clearance from the Pakistan Peoples Party (Bhutto's party). Once we get the go-ahead, we will start the movie," Sushmita had earlier told reporters.

Sushmita is reportedly working hard to get into her character by reading extensively on the life of Bhutto and watching footages on her. She is simultaneously working on her Urdu diction as well.

Co-produced by Pakistani producers Zaid Aziz and Henna Rai of Karachi production firm Vox Vision and Leicester-based Sum Films respectively, the film will be bilingual - made both in English and Urdu.

Tentatively titled "Benazir Bhutto: The Movie", it will be shot at various locations in Pakistan, the US, Britain and Dubai, where Bhutto spent years as a student and later as a political leader in exile.

Apparently, Mahesh Bhatt's Vishesh Films is also battling out to make a biopic on the leader.
