Abhishek in Zanjeer remake

http://www.apunkachoice.com/scoop/bollywood/img/20040521-3.gif

The grand persona of the greatest icon of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan has no parallel. But, the only person who comes closest to the personality he attains is undeniably his own son, Abhishek Bachchan.

Buzz has it that Abhishek will be portraying the role of a tough cop, very much in the lines of his dad’s path breaking role in ‘Zanjeer’. The intense, no-nonsense role of a cop played by Big B is considered to be one of his best-known performances. And now his son Abhishek is all set to reprise the role.

The film that carved a definite image of Amitabh as one ‘angry young man’ of the time was appreciated worldwide and the same is expected to happen for Jr Bachchan. According to the reports, in the upcoming film ‘Dum Maro Dum’, Abhishek will play the role of a tough cop who is up against the drug mafia.

In order to make this role a repeat of Big B`s classic act, the makers are working overtime to give Abhishek some special attention and are keeping it as close to Big B`s character in ‘Zanjeer’ as possible.

amitabh and King Khan Shahrukh to share screen space soon

http://bollywoodbuzz.in/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/s.jpg

Mumbai, March 23: Director Vivek Sharma debuted well as a director with ‘Bhoothnath’, and is now using his above-average start to put his career in full-steam mode. The movie boasted special presence of Bollywood titans Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. He is using the awesome combination again for his upcoming ‘Buddham Sharanam Gachchami’.

When only one of them is enough to saturate the screen space with their presence, the idea of both together sparks enormous interest. ‘Bhoothnath’ won big time at the BO, and Vivek’s production house ‘Film Zone Productions’ is targeting even handsome returns this time.

Vivek plans to start two projects by the end of this year.

“My first film is titled Buddham Sharanam Ghachchami and it is a very violent film. I am planning to have big stars in the film. My next script needs to have both the superstars. I have narrated the subject to Amitabh Bachchan, I have yet to narrate it to Shah Rukh. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will agree to do my project,” Vivek revealed to a news daily.

‘Kal Kisne Dekha’, another flick in Vivek’s kitty, has been shot at various locales in South Africa and New Zealand. It stars debutants Jackky Bhagnani and Vaishali Desai, who is filmmaker Manmohan Desai’s grand daughter.

“The film is all about a young boy who can see the future. He has supernatural powers. I had signed the film before Bhoothnath but when Ravi Chopra approached me with Bhoothnath, I could not hold back. I was keen to work with Amjitji and Shah Rukh whom I consider my local guardian,” Vivek explained.

Talking of more projects, he said, “Well I am doing Ashtavinayak’s ‘Dil Can Fly Idhar Udhar’, a romantic comedy. We have still not zeroed in on the star cast.”

Big B sings Ranbir’s praise

http://www.lollywood.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/ranbir-kapoor.jpg

mitabh Bachchan has been in the film industry for decades and he is considered as the scion of Bollywood. If he showers accolades on someone then it is a great credit and fortunately Ranbir Kapoor is the luckiest one who has walked away with all the praises from Big B. Amitabh is a great admirer of Ranbir and he is happy to see him growing day by day.

'He (Ranbir Kapoor) has shaped up so well in his career so far and with such ease and rapidity. Cannot imagine he was assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali as an AD (assistant director) on 'Black',' Amitabh posted on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com.

'He and Sonam Kapoor were assistants on the set together. And now look at them. Big stars in their own right. Feels so wonderful to watch how this generation grows and accomplishes itself,' he added.

It’s a wonderful feeling to have personalities like Amitabh Bachchan as fan, isn’t Ranbir.

Irresistible Rekha applies vermillion; Big B walks away!

http://mimg.sulekha.com/amitabh-and-rekha/Stills/Silsila14.jpg

Mumbai, March 02: There seems to be a divine mystery running between Rekha and the Bachchan clan. The electrifying moment of the two meeting on the Filmfare Awards was a memorable one, and thought provoking, too. The awards ceremony saw Bollywood titans and sirens sharing intimate kisses and hugs. While a recuperating Shah Rukh Khan sat beside Abhishek Bachchan, his beauty of a wife Aishwarya sat beside him, flanked on the other side by charismatic Amitabh.

It so happened that Rekha, the golden guest of all Bollywood ceremonies, spotted Shah Rukh, and strolled to him to enquire about his health. And just like that, the neighbouring Bachchan clan came close enough for a necessary meeting. While Rekha pecked Abhishek, who had risen up in her honour, Aishwarya was given a hug, too.

By this time all eyes were riveted on the electrifying meeting, as the next in line for the ‘kiss or hug’ was none other than Big B.

The chemistry seemed to smoulder hotter between the legendary couple of yore with every step of Rekha. However, Amitabh could not bear such proximity with Rekha anymore, and walked off while Aishwarya was hugging the golden lady.

What made the ever-suave Big B unable to bear Rekha’s proximity? Was it her magnetic persona, her unyielding feelings for Amitabh or that prominent red vermillion on her head?

The red parting in Rekha’s locks screamed for attention. But for whom? Do we even need to mention!

Amitabh Bachan in a Movie Grrr

http://bollywoodbuzz.in/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/amitabh.jpg

The king of comedy films Priysdarshan also likes to take on different genres as a director. We saw a different side to him with Billu and Bhool Bhulaiyaa and now he plans to take on the thriller/horror film with his next titled Grrr. Who will star in this interestingly titled film? None other than the great Amitabh Bachchan.

The film will be about wild tigers and Priyadarshan told Subhash K Jha, “Grrr will be about the man-eating tigers of the Sunderbans. It’ll belong to the same genre as Steven Spielberg’s Jaws. Grrr is my first attempt at making a thriller.”

The film for Percept Pictures has as its lead character Jim Corbett, who was a British hunter, conservationist and naturalist who killed many tigers. Amitabh will take on the role of Corbett, “I’m a big admirer of Jim Corbett and a huge fan of Amitji. It’s only natural that I bring the two together when I can.

“Even though I’ve directed Amitji in several ads, it’s been my dream to do a feature film with him. I was looking for a role that’s worthy of his stature, experience and age. And who better than Jim Corbett?”

The film is being produced by Percept Pictures new division titled PPC Horrotainment and Shailendra Singh of Percept Limited said, “We are delighted about the fact that PPC Horrotainment's first film Grrr...is with ace film maker Priyadarshan."

The film is scheduled to go to the floor in June of this year! We will be sure to keep an eye out for all the news about this interesting project and report it so keep an eye on this space for more!
